Apologies

Actions from last meeting
Please note that copies of the minutes from all of the meetings are kept in a folder in the ‘office’ at Grozone. Please feel free to have a read.
Thanks to everyone who has helped out with specific daily tasks – especially the Kelly kettles, guided tours, toilet checks and photo taking – your help is much appreciated.
Start/finish times – managing to keep to the 10.00 - 3.00 session times most of the time, and to share lunchtimes together. Thanks everyone for your continued help with this.
Work programme
New growing area – The ground preparation is mostly done, thank you. Next stage is to dig in lots of (bullock) manure.
Toilet ramp – been carrying on installing the posts. Once we start the straight section of ramp, more people will be able to get involved in the build at any one time.
Have lined and filled the new raised beds by the greenhouse
Pete Dykes has delivered the panels for the fruit cages. Thanks Pete.
Lots of work digging out a trench for the cabling for the solar cells. Once the pipe is buried we will dig up and replant the nursery trees to form a hedge.
Lots of great artworks have been created, including the eyes for the Grozone Giant.
We need to build netted frames to cover the raised beds – some we can cover with polythene rather than netting to create cold frames
Other projects
CCG project – running on Wednesdays and Fridays 1.00 - 3.00pm. We would still like to recruit more participants. Please be aware that Fiona needs to concentrate on that group during those times, and will not be available to the rest of us.
UCAN – nothing new to report
Events
48 people came to the Halloween pumpkin carving day!
Andy to look into possible Children In Need funding for future family clubs.
Had a discussion about liability in case of accidents during family club events. Grozone has public liability Insurance through Groundwork, but parents/guardians are responsible for their children’s safety during such events.
Andy has booked a place for Grozone at The Hearts of Northwich Event in February
Any other business
Suggestion that we have a Grozone flag and flagpole – Andy pointed out that a flagpole would contravene our terms of lease, and that the original idea to have a flower bed spelling out Grozone (or a mosaic) in the view of train passengers would probably be better.
Could we devise a system to control traffic flow and parking (especially to prevent people parking in front of the tool sheds.
Andy and Si to chaser up the Grozone map
Had a discussion about how we should all keep to the daily tasks listed on the task board, to minimise the amount of unnecessary visits by staff to the tool sheds.
Bluebell bulbs will be delivered by Cheshire Wildlife Trust tomorrow J
Date of next meeting
Wednesday 3rd December at 3.00pm
