Welcome to Grozone Community Garden, Northwich
Covid-19 arrangements
So here we are in Lockdown 3.0 - Grozone will not be opening until the lockdown is over. Watch this space and our facebook page www.facebook.com/grozone for updates on when we might reopen and how to get involved even though we are closed. Please see our "whats on this month" page for things that are happening even though the garden is shut. Grozone is a flourishing community garden, horticulture and wildlife project in the middle of Northwich, Cheshire We provide volunteering opportunities for all and social and horticultural therapy for people with mild to moderate depression and anxiety. This 'hidden oasis' is a fantastic place for mind and body, where you can learn new skills or share and develop existing ones in a welcoming and sociable outdoor environment. |
Highlights of 2020
We still have managed to cram in loads of positive experiences in between lockdowns at Grozone!
We have created a potting shed, made and eaten meals together, planted a hedge, sowed lots of seeds and harvested their products, we ran a successful "gnome" trail in February half term, despite the rain, we have refurbished the big fruit cage, had some fantastic Reiki sessions, proccessed wood and planted bulbs. We undertook a huge overhaul of the site to get the weeds under control when we reopened in the summer. We ran family holiday sessions to help combat holiday hunger and we have prepped the growing spaces ready for next year.
Despite the interuption from lockdown we have run 26 toddler sessions - with 341 visits from toddlers and their families over those sessions. We have been joined 49 new families as well as lots of familiar faces and some lovely new babies too!

*please note that some pictures were taken before social distancing existed (January, February or until 19th March) or people near each other are from the same family or support bubble. Runner beans are exempt from social distancing measures*
