Friends of Grozone meeting 9th April 2014 - minutes of meeting
Actions from last meeting - none identified
Thanks – Andy thanked everyone for coming, and for all your hard work. Grozone is looking fantastic
Feedback – Andy passed on the positive feedback he had received from volunteers, visitors and Groundwork Cheshire staff over the last few
weeks.
Website/Facebook/blog – Andy thanked Simon for all his hard work
doing a fantastic job setting up the Grozone website – Grozone.org.uk which is
now live!! Pete explained how the site worked, and what information you can
find on it, including a calendar of activities
Calendar of activities – If enough people would like to change the days that we run particular activities, then we will happily change them. Please use the stickers and flipchart in the yurt to express your preferred days for activities. We will leave the flipchart there for a couple of weeks to give everyone a chance to indicate your
choices
Cooking project – anyone interested in discussing plans for a cooking project should meet after this meeting
Combination locks on tool sheds – to ensure everyone’s safety, and to provide secure storage during sessions, we will be changing the number on the combination locks on the two tool sheds
Decision making process – Andy invited everyone to volunteer themselves or others to form a small committee of volunteers – the committee would meet briefly before or after the Friends Group meetings & help ensure a more democratic decision making process
Other projects – Andy outlined two other projects which will be starting at Grozone soon – both probably on Wednesdays
Inductions – Pete asked for help with the first induction day next Tuesday. It would be great if regular volunteers could come along to help, and to point out any bits that get missed. Everyone should also attend an induction day anyway, however long you’ve been coming to Grozone.
Any other business
Gill offered to publicise Grozone to other social workers – thanks Gill.
Mike asked about getting some bluebells – they need to bloom before we can transplant them.
Mindfulness training. Chris asked whether this would be possible to arrange. Andy and Pete are looking into it.
Date of next meeting – Wednesday 7th May at 1.00pm
