- Welcome to everyone
- < >Work programme
- Grozone was on North West Tonight and it was a fantastic representation of what we do and how brilliant the garden is, thank you to everyone that was filmed or supported the filming.
- Staff from Northwich Library visited our toddler session and it was the busiest session ever with maybe 70 people there.
- Work has been taking place on our Pride of Rudheath Lion. Its nearly complete and just needs varnishing. It looks amazing and is a great artistic representation of Grozone. Thank you to Lucy from Small Works of Art for all her time and effort.
- Roots to Wellbeing has been progressing well with the largest and most diverse cohort of learners yet. There are two weeks left of this set of lessons, more to start in September – if anyone knows of someone who would like to take part and is on benefits and seeking work, please contact Pete on [email protected].
- Brightlife Growing Connections has started as of 9th July, both at Grozone and within sheltered housing around Northwich – if anyone knows of anyone over 50 who would like to join in please contact Andy at [email protected].
- We have been chose by Ladies Circle as their charity of the year. They will be coming on a visit and hopefully we will benefit from their fund raising efforts later in the year.
- We will be recruiting and retraining for the volunteer lead sessions and hopefully starting them later in the summer.
- Lots of food growing has gone on, with special attention paid to the allotment, which has never looked better complete with veggies and new signs.
- Greenbank school have come each Tuesday and moved tonnes of soil.
- Pete has been working with Victoria road school to foster a good relationship with Barons Quay, by planting up wild flowers in their bare areas.
- Thanks to everyone who has helped Caroline at the Chat and Craft sessions in the town centre, your company and efforts are greatly appreciated.

- Saturday 22nd September, our 10th Birthday Festival! Will include live music, a pop up bar, market street, story telling, crafts and free entry for all.
- We are working on a Horticulture Therapy partnership with Mersey Forest with sessions set to run on Tuesday afternoons.
- Potential to have a stall on the 24th November at the Christmas market, this was put to the friends of meeting and was met with a NO! Good to know as it would be good to start prepping asap if people were keen.
- Any other business
- T-Shirts and Hoodies are available at £8 a t shirt, £17 hoodie – this is cost price they will be available from Andy from next week.
- Please make sure you are taking your rubbish home with you, particularly plastic bottles and pot noodle pots – give them and rinse and take them away!
- A reminder – that all of Grozone belongs to everyone, this particularly applies to the smoking shelter – if people who don’t smoke want to sit in there (and risk the second hand smoke) that is up to them – conversations need to be kept appropriate for everyone to hear, all over Grozone. If you want a private conversation find a space where there isn’t anyone hanging out and be mindful of people passing.
- Date of next meeting:
28th August at 1.30pm
